About UsAMTPA is a not-for-profit, educational association made up of Alberta government municipal property taxation professionals. Run by members, it was incorporated in 2020 with the purpose of providing a forum that offers municipal taxation professionals across the province:

Our FutureAs AMTPA continues to grow, the association will develop a professional designation for Alberta municipal taxation members that will recognize the qualifications and expertise required in this profession. |
HistoryAlberta Taxation Clerks were meeting for many years before the association was established. The meetings were not annual and dependent on a municipality willing to plan and host the event. The purpose of these meetings were to provide education and networking for tax professions across the province. In February 2020 the Institute of Alberta Municipal Tax Clerks was incorporated to be a forum for taxation professionals to hold annual conferences and provide formalized education. In May of 2021, the Institute underwent a name change to Alberta Municipal Taxation Professionals Association to encompass all those within the municipal taxation profession that includes but not limited to revenue collection and other financial officers. |
